    About Us

The James Madison HS Band Parents Organization ("Band Boosters") is a non-profit corporation that provides volunteer and financial support for the award-winning JMHS Band Program. JMHS is a public high school in Fairfax County located in Vienna, VA. Led by Band Director Michael Hackbarth, the Band Program, also known as the "Pride of Vienna," is comprised of the Marching Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, and the Winter Guard. The Marching Ensemble performs at all JMHS home football games, marches in the JMHS Homecoming Parade and Town of Vienna Halloween Parade, and travels to compete in regional and national high school marching band competitions. The Band has earned a reputation of excellence and is only one of five high school bands in the nation to be awarded the prestigious Sudler Flag twice. One-third of the Band Program's expenses are covered by fixed fees and a contribution from the school system. The remaining two-thirds of its expenses are covered by donations and fundraising events, which include Tag Day, the Turkey Trot 5k/10k/Fun Run, Tiny Tots performances, and sales of White House Ornaments, wrapping paper, citrus, and hams. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
