Vienna undertakes project to relocate Marshall Road water line

In preparation for a larger Marshall Road Sidewalk Improvement project, anticipated to start at the end of March, the Town of Vienna will relocate the water line on Marshall Road beginning Monday, January 29.

The water line relocation is expected to require 3-4 weeks, dependent on weather conditions, and will require lane closures from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday for the duration of the project. While the westbound lane of Marshall Road will be closed, traffic will continue to travel in both directions in the eastbound lane with the assistance of flaggers. Also, residents in the area will maintain access to their homes and driveways throughout the project.

Sporadic interruptions to water service are anticipated only when the transfer from the old water line to the new one takes places. Residents who will be affected by service interruptions will be notified ahead of time by the Town of Vienna. No additional utility interruptions are anticipated.

The sidewalk on the north side of Marshall Road, from Trowbridge Place to Rachel Lane, will be closed throughout this project.
