DESCRIPTION:Come learn about the history of Wolf Trap National Park and enter to win raffle for a backstage tour of The Barns!\n\n	Why does Vienna have a national park?\n	Who was the visionary who donated a farm to the USG?\n	Why is it the only national park for the performing arts?\n	How did Wolf Trap get two 18th century barns and is now in the process of adding a third?\n\nKen Bigley\, our featured speaker\, is the National Park Service Superintendent of Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts\, a position he has held since 2022.  Bigley began his career as a resource assistant with the Student Conservation Association at Carlsbad Caverns National Park (New Mexico) in 1991. He has since served at many NPS national park sites\, with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and later with the U.S. Forest Service.  Bigley earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in earth and planetary sciences from Harvard College.  \n\n\n\nOver the course of a year the Wolf Trap Foundation presents over 200 performances by artists of all genres to nearly 400\,000 patrons at the Filene Center\, The Barns at Wolf Trap and Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.  In addition to working with the Foundation\, Ken leads the NPS staff in conserving Wolf Trap's beautiful\, natural landscape for its environmental value and for people to enjoy hiking\, bird watching\, educational programs and simply being outside.  Ken will discuss the past\, present and future of this national treasure located here in Vienna.\n\n\n\nWin a backstage tour!   \n\nAll attendees can enter a drawing for a behind-the-scenes\, backstage tour for 4 of The Barns which will include the 1725 German barn\, celebrating 300 years this year.
