Family PASS launches ''Sock It To Me'' Campaign for Working Homeless Families
What does $25 a month mean to you? It's that pesky small change that collects in your bag or pockets every month. I collect mine in my old athletic socks, which is why we launched the Sock It To Me - a
campaign to help the homeless which will run for one year. What does it mean to families in Fairfax struggling to stay housed? It can mean heat through the winter. Or a telephone. Or diapers for the baby.
The homeless count in Fairfax County went up this year for the first time in eight years. Most of our homeless are in families and have jobs -- but jobs that pay minimum wage. Anyone who lives in Fairfax County knows that's not going to pay the bills. Over 20,000 households in Fairfax are at high risk of losing their homes. What can we do about it? Scrape up that spare change.
Family PASS's Sock It To Me!
drive is asking the Vienna Business Community to help us help others by pledging what ever you can monthly to Family PASS. Our goal: 500 donors pledging and average of $25 a month for one year. That adds up to $150,000. No so small change! It costs Family PASS about $4500 per family to help them get on a path to financial independence. So our goal of 500 donors will help 33 new families.
Please join us - any monthly pledge is an important contribution to helping others. Thanks! Click here
