Vienna hires Downey & Scott as police facility project manager
At its January 7 meeting, Vienna Town Council approved a contract with Warrenton-based Downey & Scott, LLC to provide project management services for design, construction, and post-construction of a new police facility. The contract price for project management services is not to exceed $318,950.
The Town currently is working with Dewberry to design the new police facility, on which construction is expected to begin in 2020. Town Council will consider high-level conceptual layout options at its January 14 work session.
Over the past five years, Downey & Scott, which has 34 years’ experience in construction management, has provided services for more than 500 projects in Virginia, including police and public safety facilities to schools.
“I’m pleased to work with an experienced firm like Downey & Scott,” says Vienna Police Chief Jim Morris, “to help ensure that each phase of our construction project, as much as possible, runs smoothly and meets established deadlines.”
Updates about the police department construction project will be posted regularly to the “Police Department Renovation” page, located under the Police Department section, at viennava.gov.
