Go native at Vienna’s Native Plant Sale Sept. 16
Find a large selection of native plants and herbs at great prices – and a lot more, too – at the Vienna Community Enhancement Commission’s Native Plant Sale from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, September 16, in the parking lot of the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry Street SE.
“Native plants eliminate the need for toxic chemicals, require less water, and provide food and habitat for wildlife,” says Maureen Alonso, a member of the Community Enhancement Commission. “They’re easy to care for and lovely additions to your garden.”
Bring bags or boxes to carry your plants home. Cash, check, and credit cards will be accepted.
In addition to native plants, the sale will include an observation bee hive and free rain barrel raffle as well as information about the Northern Virginia Water Conservation District’s Conservation Assistance Program and how to make your lawn a chemical-free oasis for wildlife and the threatened bee population.
