Mack is a veteran of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and with Jay Leno, plus dozens of other TV shows including JAG and a recurring role as a judge on ABC’s The Guardian along with several feature films. Not to mention 125 episodes of the syndicated show “Comedy Break with Mack & Jamie” that he hosted with his comedy team partner. He was hand-picked by Bill Maher to write on the acclaimed show ABC’s Politically Incorrect. He is a guaranteed hit, as hundreds of thousands who have seen him perform will attest.
As a writer, one of his books, “Does This Book Make My Head Look Fat?” received rave reviews. Former Saturday Night Live head writer David Sheffield put it, “The ability to make people laugh out loud at a printed page is a special, almost mystical gift, and Mack does it to me every time. He’s hilarious.”
More about Mack Dryden…
From humble beginnings as "the funniest paper mill employee in Mississippi," Mack earned a black belt in karate even as he was earning his Masters in Creative Writing. He won two Associated Press writing awards as a reporter in his home state.
“Awesome!” “Hilarious!” “Unique!” The accolades for Mack Dryden go on and on. But whether he’s busting ribs with his uproarious, family-friendly standup, or inspiring with a powerful yet laugh-out-loud motivational speech, Mack is a one-of-a-kind performer who always kills the crowd and thrills his corporate clients.
His stories of surviving two battles with cancer, a stay in an African prison, and “the sharks in showbiz who stab you in the front" are as inspiring as they are laugh-out-loud funny. "The Funniest Two-
Time Cancer Survivor in the Country," also rocks the house at dozens of Cancer Survival Celebrations every year.
He shares a CLIO Award for writing and performing with his former comedy partner of 35 years, Jamie Alcroft. The CLIO Awards is the world’s most recognized international awards competition for advertising, design, digital and communications. Jay Leno said MACK & JAMIE are “the funniest comedy team working today”. Daily Variety described them as “devastatingly funny”. And, a Los Angeles Times critic wrote that they’re “the smoothest pairing since Hope and Crosby”. While Mack and Jamie are no longer touring together, Mack has gone on to be one of the most sought after motivational speakers in the US.
