About the Presenter
Catherine "Kate" Reese is a family law attorney with 26 years of experience (MD, VA, DC licensed), a master’s in counseling, and extensive training in collaborative law and mediation. She focuses her practice on the full spectrum of family law matters and has extensive experience in equitable distribution of assets, child and spousal support, and custodial time, as well as the negotiation and preparation of prenuptial, postnuptial and marital settlement agreements.
When Kate identifies matters that can be resolved more amicably and without contested litigation costs, she highly recommends alternate dispute resolution options such as mediation and collaborative law. As a Virginia Supreme Court Certified Family Law mediator and mentor, she is able to negotiate the best possible outcomes for her clients, helping them reach out-of-court resolutions whenever possible.
