STOCK UP ON PLANTS, KNOWLEDGE & FUN AT MAY 7 GARDEN FAIRE
If you have a green thumb or wish you did, you’ll want to attend the Vienna Garden Faire from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 7, on the Town Green, 144 Maple Avenue E. Garden design and landscape companies, gardening and craft vendors, and horticulture and conservation nonprofits will all be on hand.
The Ayr Hill Garden Club will host its annual native plant sale, which will be open from 8 a.m.-noon. The plants being sold have proven to thrive in Vienna. All proceeds from the sale help the club maintain six gardens throughout Town.
Town of Vienna Arborist Sam Lily will present at 10 a.m., and at 11 a.m. the pros from the Merrifield Home Depot will discuss spring lawn care and how to attract birds and butterflies to the garden. For children, activities include a grass hair planter and garden coloring placemats. Live music, too, at 11:30 a.m. with musicians from NRJ, French Revolution, and Oakmont Sages. Sweet treats from Crepe Amour will be available for purchase.
This is a rain or shine event. For additional information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 703-255-6360.
