“The health crisis has impacted our businesses – many of which have been here for several generations and help make the up the core fabric of Vienna,” said Natalie Monkou Town of Vienna Economic Development Manager. “More than ever before, we need to show appreciation to our business community as we also consider the next steps toward recovery. This is a small but visual step in showing our support and showcasing the innovation and resiliency that is present in our Town.”
Town businesses that had to fully close or adjust their business operations due to the pandemic (fitness studios, hair salons, restaurants) have been busy implementing their safety procedures and new operation guidelines under Governor Northam’s Phase 1 Reopening Plan for Northern Virginia now scheduled to take place on May 29.
The Town of Vienna has been working with businesses and regional partners to prepare for the State of Virginia’s Phase 1 re-opening. Throughout the health crisis, the Town has worked hard to provide a wealth of resources to help businesses get through this crisis. Examples include the Town’s COVID-19 business resources page, a weekly e-newsletter to residents and businesses, and a business impact survey created in partnership with the Vienna Business Association and the Town Business Liaison Committee.
