Little Bottoms, Big Needs - Social4Good’s 6th Annual Diaper Drive to Support Fairfax Diapers

During National Diaper Need Awareness Week Social4Good hosts 6th Annual Fairfax Diapers Diaper Drive and raises over $6,000 to keep local babies dry.

Diapers are essential to the proper care and well being of all babies. What happens when parents cannot afford diapers to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy? In addition to the potential health risks for the baby, parents may be forced to miss work or to make tough choices about what they will sacrifice to purchase diapers.

Fairfax Diapers eases the challenge of diaper insecurity and raises awareness of this critical need in the local community. Since its launch in 2019, Fairfax Diapers has distributed over 1.4 million diapers to clients receiving charitable support from local nonprofit, Food for Others, as well as 10 other local organizations. 

“Recent inflationary cost increases have only worsened the situation for many families and with the expiration of CARES Act in June of 2024, many organizations who relied on CARES Act funding are struggling to meet diaper demand. I have been humbled to witness the kindness and wonderful support of so many people who believe in our mission and allow us to help local babies in need,” says the Fairfax Diapers Founder. 

With no overhead or staff, EVERY diaper and EVERY dollar donated to Fairfax Diapers provides diapers for families in need.

Fairfax Diapers relies on financial donations to purchase diapers for further distribution to those in need.  Fairfax Diapers also participates in diaper drives hosted by organizations like Social4Good, secular organizations, brownie and girl scout troops, fitness clubs, elementary school student councils, swim clubs, and teens needing service hours. Diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 5 are regularly in high demand. The organization gladly accepts open and partially used packages as donations.

Social4Good (S4G) identifies Fairfax Diapers as a Critical Need Partner because it addresses a clear, high-priority need that is not adequately being met by other local community organizations. S4G’s 6th Annual Diaper Drive raised over $6,000 for local babies in need by providing $4,100 in monetary donations and $1,900 in diaper donations to cover approximately one month's diaper distribution needs. Over the past 6 years, S4G has donated more than $25,700 to support Fairfax Diapers’ mission.
